The Cannes Yachting Festival opens on Tuesday 8 September 2026 and runs to Sunday 13 September. Around 700 boats from 5 to 50 metres are spread across two harbours, and a show on that scale is not something you look at - it is something you navigate. The visitors who leave with something useful are the ones who decided where they were going before they arrived. Two ports, one show: know which one you need
The festival is split between two harbours, and they are not interchangeable. The Vieux Port, at the foot of the Croisette beside the Palais des Festivals, holds the motor yacht fleet, the season's big launches, the superyacht extension and most of the shipyard stands. Port Canto, a fifteen-minute walk east along the bay, holds the sailing area, the multihulls, the tenders and toys and the brokerage section where pre-owned yachts are shown. Free sea shuttles connect the two from 10 am, roughly every 15 minutes, in RIBs and larger covered boats; the crossing takes a few minutes and is a good deal more pleasant than the walk. Decide in advance which port your shortlist lives in, and cross once rather than four times.
Opening hours, and the one quiet hour of the day
The festival opens daily at 10 am. It closes at 7 pm from Tuesday to Thursday and again on Saturday, stays open until 10 pm on Friday 11 September, and finishes at 6 pm on Sunday 13 September. The practical detail worth acting on: the first hour after opening is the only genuinely quiet one. By midday the docks belong to the crowd, crews are handling three groups at once, and the conversation you wanted on board becomes a queue. If you have a serious viewing to do, be at the gate at 10. And if you can only come one evening, come on Friday - the port after dark, with the yachts lit and the pace finally slower, is worth staying for.
Sea trials are arranged in advance, never on the spot
The Vieux Port has a dedicated sea trial area, and a number of exhibitors run trials throughout the week - but they are booked directly with the exhibitor, in advance, and subject to each yard's own conditions. Nobody hands out slots at the pontoon on the day. If being on the water is part of why you are coming, ask now rather than on arrival. The same applies to a proper unhurried viewing of any yacht on our brokerage fleet: an hour booked ahead is worth an afternoon of queueing.

Come and talk through whatever stage you are at: yacht sales and brokerage, new construction, yacht management, technical and shore support, berthing or owner representation. Two weeks after Cannes the fleet moves a few miles east to Port Hercule for the Monaco Yacht Show, from 23 to 26 September 2026, where Divo Yacht is an official exhibitor.
