The Mediterranean season has closed, and winter work has started across the Divo Yacht fleet. M/Y Daylight is the first of our yachts to come out of the water this autumn. She was hauled out by the 130-ton travel lift at Copi Cantieri Nautici in Imperia, on the Italian Riviera, in October 2026 to begin her winter storage and maintenance programme.
For owners, winter is when a yacht earns her next season. The work done ashore in these months decides how smoothly she runs from spring onwards. Our technical team organises the whole programme, so the owner does not have to.

The lay-up season begins with M/Y Daylight
Every autumn, the yachts in our care follow a winter plan agreed with each owner well before the last charter or cruise of the season. Daylight is the first through the yard this year, and her haul-out marks the start of a busy few months for our team.
We agreed the scope of work with her owner and captain in advance, booked the yard slot and the travel lift, and planned her arrival so she could come out of the water on the day she reached the yard.
Out of the water: the haul-out
A safe haul-out depends on preparation. Before the lift, our team confirms the yacht's weight and lifting points with the yard, checks the strap positions against the builder's drawings, and arranges cradle or stand support for her time ashore. Once she is out, the hull is pressure-washed and inspected straight away, before any marine growth can dry and harden on it.
What happens over the winter
With Daylight ashore, the winter programme moves through the jobs that can only be done properly out of the water or out of season:
- Pre-lay-up survey to record the yacht's condition and build the job list
- Engines and generators: oil, filters, impellers, cooling systems and manufacturer service intervals
- Hull and running gear: antifouling, anodes, propellers, shafts, stabilisers and seacocks
- Onboard systems: air conditioning, watermaker, hydraulics, electrics and batteries
- Interior and deck: ventilation and dehumidification, upholstery, teak and canvas care
- Certificates and compliance: surveys and class or flag items due before the new season
Our Yacht Winter Maintenance Guide covers each of these steps in more detail.
One team, one point of contact
Winter maintenance usually involves many people: the yard, engine specialists, painters, upholsterers, surveyors and the crew. Our role is to bring all of this together for the owner.
We collect and compare quotes, schedule each contractor, supervise the work on site, and keep the owner and captain updated as each job is completed and checked. Every decision on scope and budget stays with the owner, and we handle everything else.
Ready for the season ahead
When the winter list is complete, we plan the relaunch, commissioning and sea trial so the yacht returns to the water ready to use. The aim is simple: Daylight should start next season without surprises, and the same goes for every yacht in our care.

Where is M/Y Daylight spending the winter?
M/Y Daylight is spending the winter ashore at Copi Cantieri Nautici in Imperia, on the Italian Riviera. She was hauled out by the yard's 130-ton travel lift in October 2026 for a winter storage and maintenance programme coordinated by Divo Yacht.
When should I book winter storage for my yacht?
Book winter storage for your yacht as early as possible, ideally before the end of the summer season. Yards and travel-lift slots on the Italian and French Riviera fill quickly in October and November.
Is it better to store a yacht ashore or afloat over winter?
Storing a yacht ashore makes hull, running-gear and through-hull work possible and spares her riding out the winter weather afloat in the marina. Wintering afloat can suit yachts with lighter work lists. Divo Yacht advises each owner on the best option for their yacht.
What does Divo Yacht handle during winter maintenance?
Divo Yacht manages the full winter maintenance programme: yard booking, haul-out, survey, contractor quotes and scheduling, on-site supervision, progress updates, relaunch and sea trials.
Can Divo Yacht manage winter works for a yacht that is not in its fleet?
Yes. Owners whose yachts are not in the Divo Yacht fleet can contact our team for winter maintenance and technical services on a project basis.
